Steering Group
Bring together a group of local stakeholders, including your council representative, and meet at least twice a year.
For larger communities, if your population is over 100,000, you also need to include a flagship business representative.
Why?
A journey like this needs a dedicated crew. By connecting people with widespread expertise and energy, your Steering Group can share the workload, responsibility and ownership. Each member can make changes in key sectors, get the message to new people and places, and make sure the movement stays relevant to what’s happening in the community
How?
- Invite environmental experts, business leaders, decision makers and other big fish in your area to join the Steering Group. If you have an SAS Regional Rep in your community, definitely invite them too.
- Get together every six months or more to discuss progress, set targets, and assign responsibilities for projects and objectives.
- Share your progress with SAS regularly using your Community dashboard.
