The Dashboard

The Plastic Free Communities dashboard is the place to tell us everything you are doing towards the award, keep track of your progress, and access all the resources you need along the way. It’s also where you register events for insurance ,and order leaflets, posters and other event kit such as flags & banners for your community.

Through the dashboard, we can also keep track of the impact our 600+ Plastic Free Communities are having as a nationwide movement, and use it to call for change. The dashboard is where the movement comes together, and how you scale your action to a national level.

Your progress

Once logged in you will be able to see your community name.
You will also see your progress bar which will increase as you work on the award.. At 100% you will have achieved Plastic Free Communities award.

Notices

We update these notices with things you might need to know, and is a quick way of keeping updated on the campaign. We might update these with links to the newest newsletter, links to Surfers Against Sewage campaigns or petitions, or upcoming workshops. You’ll also get notices here if a step has been completed or might need more work.

The 5 Steps

This is where all the magic happens! There are a series of steps to meet in order to achieve Plastic Free Communities status. You can access each step and tasks from the dashboard, where you can also monitor your progress.

Each Step will display one of the follow:

Get Started: This step hasn’t been started yet

Underway: Some of the step has been filled in

Action Required: You’ve submitted to us to have a look but something might need looking at. You will also get an email explaining more on what might be needed.

Ready to Submit: This step is ready to be looked at by the SAS team – click submit to send off.

Waiting for Approval:  We’re currently having a look at your updates – we’ll get back to you asap.

Approved: Great work! This step has been completed!

Each Step

Within each step, there are some tasks to complete. When you fill in each section, make sure you save each time, and allow the page to fully finish saving before clicking out. When each tasks has been filled in, then click ‘Submit’ so we can take a look. Each step also has a progress bar, once it’s at 100%, then that step is completed.

Note: You can only submit the step to us for checking once all tasks in the step are filled in.

Here you can find lots of resources to help you work on the award, from downloads, podcasts, videos, blogs, social media packs and more, there’s everything you need to get started on the award.

Achieving Plastic Free Status

Once all five steps are complete and approved we can officially award your community Plastic Free status! You will receive an award pack to celebrate, show off your hard work and help you with their onward journey.
